2025-26 SCAG Regional Council President Cindy Allen shared the “2025-26 President’s Report” while closing out her term at the 2026 Regional Conference and General Assembly. The “2025-26 President’s Report” provides a detailed account of SCAG’s accomplishments since Allen assumed the role of Regional Council president in May 2025. SCAG also screened a video highlighting SCAG's accomplishments over the past year at the conference.

The SCAG Resource Lounge, part of two days of programming and events during the 2026 Regional Conference and General Assembly, creates a space for attendees to explore SCAG tools, programs, and initiatives, with direct access to SCAG’s regional planning experts. Designed to create access to SCAG resources, the lounge brings leaders and practitioners together to exchange information on funding sources, data, and best practices that support work to address the region’s most pressing challenges.

SCAG offers a wide range of funding programs, data tools, trainings, and technical assistance to help local jurisdictions plan and implement projects that advance the regional vision outlined in the Connect SoCal Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy.

SCAG received various program and project modifications to the 2025 Federal Transportation Improvement Program (FTIP), summarized as proposed Amendment #25-24, from the county transportation commissions representing Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and various counties. The public review period starts on May 4 and will conclude at 5 p.m. on May 14.

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will conduct the 2026 SCAG federal certification review to evaluate the regional transportation planning process carried out by SCAG and its partners.   

SCAG hosted a Toolbox Session on April 21, 2026, to share insights and information from the Regional Resilience Toolkit, published by SCAG in March 2026.

On April 7, SCAG hosted the “Curb Space Management – Local Lessons” Toolbox Tuesday session. Attendees learned about the projects SCAG, local agencies, and private sector stakeholders have tested to address emerging constraints on curb space.

SCAG’s “2026 State of the Region” report provides a baseline of conditions in the SCAG region to identify emergent issues and future regional planning needs. The report tracks progress implementing strategies across Southern California related to the four pillars of the Connect SoCal 2024 Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy: mobility, communities, environment, and economy.

SCAG has launched the Connec

The Planning for Main Streets project is a regional effort led by SCAG to reimagine state highway corridors that double as community main streets. The project focuses on four corridors—State Route (SR) 1 in Los Angeles County, SR-18 in San Bernardino County, SR-39 in Orange County, and SR-86 in Imperial County—and aims to transform these roads into people-centered places that balance transportation needs with community well-being.
