Good Data, Stronger Tribes: Understanding Data Shortcomings for Native Americans

Join SCAG for the upcoming Toolbox Tuesday session, “Good Data, Stronger Tribes: Understanding Data Shortcomings for Native Americans” to learn more about how regional planning organizations can support Tribes and Native people to overcome the unique problems in federal, state, and other data sets for Native Americans and Tribal communities.  

This session will review findings from a recent report co-published by SCAG and the Brookings Institution that assesses data challenges for Tribes and Native Americans in the SCAG region and nationally. The session will overview the shortcomings that public data present for Tribes and Native American people, present insights from Tribal leaders in the SCAG region about their data needs and priorities and outline a set of actions for regional organizations to take to improve data quality and availability for Tribes.
